Seriously how/why would you code for the very specific situation that the non-NTSC Sega Mega Drive this game was running on suddenly somehow changes itself to a NTSC one while still running? Like… this is a Mega Drive game. This was from over 20 years ago. I have so many questions.

a lot about the way traveller’s tales programmed their old games is kind of cool from what bits i’ve heard / seen. in order to get mickey mania to pass sega’s (very strict, iirc?) QA & cert process they had EVERY possible error or exception redirect to a “Magical Time Warp” that let you replay the previous level or move on to the next one
