everything alan resnick has made that i have seen was funny to me even if his work also makes me feel other things at the same time. alan toturial is extremely funny. i’m sure the video is fine i just think the concept of “hour long video by horror youtuber about the guy who gets hurt by blue chairs & then stolen by the feds” is funny
partly because i think the idea of having an hour-long video to explain the joke behind “purposefully bad youtube tutorial videos with increasingly absurd situations culminating in the character getting kidnapped by the government for observation & subsequently escaping” is a little silly
but mostly because i think seeing the words “Alan Tutorial EXPLAINED” in that font is the funniest thing i have seen all day
check this out

pretty cool, huh?
it basically had no story but i walked into it expecting that so it didn’t bother me too much. that said i feel like it lacked some of the… charm that 4U had? maybe that’s in part because of the nonexistent plot. i feel like maybe the whole “celebration of the franchise” thing would have had more of an impact on me if i had played any of the series prior to 4 but it mostly just made me go “well these hub maps are pretty cute. some of the environments feel kind of old and barren. i think i liked the 4U stages better”
in terms of mechanics it was basically everything i wanted out of it though? huge monster variety, hunting styles & hunter arts added interesting depth to the game’s systems, Playable Cats & Cool Hunting Horn Buffs Oh Hell Yeah… i never touched deviants much aside from the garuga one but i heard they were neat. the game was crazy fun if you had friends to play with & were willing to look past the meager single player stuff
aside from that my complaints were “i wish there were a few other monsters” and “i wish there was g-rank” & both of those are addressed by the switch version lol. excited for the return of Gore Magala’s Dragon Ball Superfan Phase as well as Wretched Fart Ape
oh and diablos too. i missed diablos
