I don't think you're reading that message wrong I just think there are still people on here who are obsessed with purity politics in media crit and think that any amount of bare skin and stylization is "sexualization" anyway I think it's mostly this thing that happens when a someone just doesn't like something popular and tries to scrape together a political argument to tear down the popular thing.

i dont know anything about this specific situation. i don’t know where this person is coming from. and aside from their tone being unnecessarily hostile given the circumstances i don’t feel like it’s fair to just jump to “oh, well your thoughts don’t matter, i decided”

i don’t like being condescended to & i don’t like people assuming i am an expert at everything because i watched a 2 minute youtube clip but i also want to at least try to understand the facts, and understand people’s perspectives, before i write them off or whatever

do what u want tbh, watch it, look at whose producing it (if u rly care that much) and make ur own decisions as to whether its ~problematic~ I wouldn't rly pay that anon much mind seeing as its pretty obvious they just wanted drama as they didn't even mention watching the show themselves lol

isnt OKKO the show where someone on here posted like every picture of the girl characters who are teens, the designs all are exposing outfits, huge butts and esp the POC characters? i cant even watch cartoon network in peace ever since the whole thing with the powerpuffgirls being remade with some 30somethin year old self inserting in the show to be blossoms bf. its hard to realize that just cause it appears as an innocent show in general doesnt mean innocent ppl are making it

it’s not as interesting as it sounds, it’s basically a chain of coincidences

being into ytp helped me become friends with certain people in high school

who got me into tf2 & pc gaming

which let me find this one steam community about ytp, where i made other friends

who got me into tumblr

which was my first significant exposure to trans folks (many of whom seem to also be into ytp, at least in my more immediate group of friends & acquaintances?), as well as where kathryn and i first met (coincidentally she also likes ytp)

it just sounds a lot funnier when i boil it down to “YouTube Poop Made Me Trans And Gay” lol

I didn't realize a lot of people watched a taste of history. One time my family went out to a resturajnt and Mr Taste Man was there and he and my grandmother talked in German and they're friends now
