good mario 64 lore: the opening scene with princess peach against a blue sky background is actually her floating horizontally in the air far above the castle. almost every spherical object is only a sprite meaning that when you move the camera in unintended ways they become flat

w.r.t. the sprite thing - i’ve known this for a while but it’s really interesting! using flat objects in place of 3D ones was a common practice in early 3D games to help save on limited processing power (heck, it’s still a common practice in several modern games), but it’s very cool to understand why they did these things, and how they made it work for them, both as an engine limitation and a stylistic choice
as for the Amazing Flying Hoverpeach… i was not aware of this thing! never really thought about the logistics of how that scene worked, but that’s neat.
thanks for letting me know! i like hearing about little tidbits like this
The anon you answered before, sorry for the confusion. Was totally trying to complement you, I'm just bad at attaching words to thoughts. But I see you as a gourmet chef when it comes to goofy nonsense posts, combining all the right ingredients to create a work of Art. Also you seem like a very nice person, and I hope you have a good day. Sorry again for any confusion.

oh, you don’t need to apologize or anything! i’m just very bad at understanding people sometimes, haha
thank you for clearing this up, though, and thank you for even more nice words
it’s been kind of a rough week or two for me so i appreciate the bit of kindness people have been showing me
I just wanted to know that your Frog post was just weird enough, with just stilted enough sentence structure, and with seemingly nonsensical but related groups of words used, with just a few utter nonsequitors thrown in, that I was legitimately convinced it was generated by some really smart AI. I actually came to this blog looking for bot posts. Also, it made me and my friend laugh and read it several times. Well done.

listen i dont mean to come off as dismissive or rude here but i’ve answered this publicly several times. i appreciate that people like the post but being expected to answer this same question repeatedly is kind of exhausting. please just scroll down on my blog a little bit
you must have been. like. REALLY good at bullshitting essays. any advice?

Anonymous
you are correct in assuming i was good at that, but unfortunately you’re incorrect in assuming that i’m good at explaining things or giving advice :(
don’t think there’s much i can say that’s helpful, i’m afraid
to me the blood post reads like a gerard way tweet, which is a rly rly good thing because his tweets are always a little nonsensical but somehow reassuring

Anonymous
i don’t know who that person is but i think this is a compliment? so thank you
Your draculas post has the sort of innocent nonsense vibe I remember from old medibot videos. Thanks for reminding me of those they were nice
